Upgrade Path Explained: Modules, Merges and Mythics

The three currencies

Everything you earn feeds three pools: Credits (common, from missions), Alloy (uncommon, from events and salvage) and Cells (rare, from bosses and milestones). The entire upgrade economy is a currency-conversion problem — the players who win are the ones who never convert wastefully.

The merge rule

Three identical modules merge into one of the next tier — Common to Rare to Epic to Legendary to Mythic. The trap: merging modules you still use. Always keep one equipped copy before merging the surplus.

What to level first

  • Weapon damage — the only stat that scales through the entire campaign.
  • Magnet radius — it compounds every pickup for the rest of the game.
  • Shield recharge — matters from stage 6 onward; early levels are wasted.

The Mythic wall

Mythic modules require a catalyst dropped only by endgame bosses or event leaderboards. Budget your alloy: a full Mythic merge costs roughly 41 Commons in raw material. Chasing two Mythics at once halves your speed — pick one.

The alloy trap

Alloy is tempting to spend on mid-tier upgrades. Do not — it is the only bottleneck currency for Mythic work. The Unlock Concierge computes optimal spend order if you want a second opinion.

Perks worth reforging

Reforging rerolls module perks. Worth it on Epic+ modules only. The three perks worth keeping: Crit Cascade, Salvage Bonus and Cooldown Split. Everything else is cosmetic noise.

Quick answers

No — merges are permanent. That is why the keep-one-equipped rule exists.
Endgame bosses, event leaderboards and the seasonal battle pass elite track.
The elite track is the most efficient catalyst source — roughly 3x the drop rate of farming bosses.
